Georgina Birchall
Georgina Birchall has delivered programs in Management to graduate students and undergraduates over the last twenty years. She lectured at Canberra Institute of Technology’s Faculty of Management for ten years, and for the last eleven years has been a consultant and academic with the University of Canberra, University of Western Sydney and consortiums delivering graduate management programs. She has degrees in economics and HRM.
Georgina has been consulting and presenting on management for over twenty years, particularly facilitating and advising on influencing others and management group decision making, including facilitating strategic planning workshops. She has co-authored books on management Working Relationships and Practical Management. Her book Managing Upwards is now in its second edition.
Since 1999, Georgina has undertaken board roles with associations, community groups and not-for-profits. She has provided coaching and advice to women in business and to the not-for-profit Women on Boards which prepares women for directorships. Her interests are painting, movies and travel.
Geoff Carter
Geoff Carter - the principal of Enable Business Control Systems – a consulting business specialising in governance facilitation and training, organisational management systems and enterprise development services.
Geoff has over the past 15 years worked with hundreds of private sector, not-for-profit and government organisations facilitating strategic direction formulation, governance policy development, risk and compliance management systems, business development processes and organisational management issues.
He regularly works with the Australian Institute of Company Directors conducting governance education programs, tailored in-board-room briefings and governance information workshops and seminars.
Geoff has previously managed a Business Enterprise Centre, Group Training Company and a Business Incubator. He has also authored a number of practical papers, articles, programs and training curriculum dealing with business management and governance issues.
Geoff has undertaken international business development projects in China and Japan, is a member of the Australian Institute of Enterprise Facilitators, and has several tertiary business and training qualifications. He has experience as a Director, Company Secretary, Chairman and Public Officer with a number of organisations.
In a previous life Geoff has qualifications and experience as a practitioner, business manager and owner in the horticulture and broadcast industries.
Greg D'Arville

Greg is an experienced adviser to companies and governments in the areas of compliance, governance, risk management and complaint handling. For over ten years he has provided advice and assistance to Australian and international organisations as they deal with these issues. His work has included systems design, policy development and implementation, training, post incident reviews, formal audits and inquiries across many industry sectors. He is the Principal of crgESSENTIALS, an independent Australian advisory enterprise.
Greg has been a prominent figure in director and executive education for a number of years and his innovative approach to the design and delivery of curricula and training in this area has established his reputation as an expert in this field. He has trained thousands of directors and executives in the areas of his specialisation.
Greg’s background in drama, law, economics and marketing has given him a unique skillset that underpins his commitment to effective learning and communication. For eight years (to 1998) he was the Director Compliance Programs at the ACCC, and prior to that held senior positions with the Australian Taxation Office.
Greg has a home in Canberra and an office in Melbourne, but he works on a national basis with a small team of colleagues.
Bede Harris
Dr Bede Harris facilitates AICD courses as the proprietor of Bede Harris Consulting, through which he conducts legal seminars for professional and tertiary bodies in Australia and overseas. He has been a legal academic in various jurisdictions for 20 years and is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Law at the University of Canberra, where he teaches corporations law, commercial law and constitutional law. He is the author of three books and numerous academic articles in the areas of corporations law and constitutional law. He has been facilitating AICD courses since 2002, and has contributed to the writing of various editions of the course materials.
Roslyn Jackson
Roslyn Jackson is a Chartered Accountant with over 20 years experience in the accounting profession, including more than twelve years training and consulting to the Australian Government. She has consulted to the Department of Finance and Administration as a budgeting specialist helping with the implementation of accrual accounting and zero based budgeting and regularly conducts financial analysis work for government grant programmes. She develops and conducts training in all facets of accounting and financial management and has trained/facilitated and examined the professional qualifications with the Institute of Chartered Accountants Australia (ICAA).
Roslyn has extensive experience in international training, mostly to our Asia-Pacific neighbours. She has been responsible for the development and delivery of government financial training to the Beijing Municipal Finance Bureau.
Roslyn has also worked as a University academic and a CFO to a large public company. She is a director of a number of companies and is currently Chair of the Audit and Risk Committee for a large public company.
Mark Love
Mark Love BEc/LLB – Partner, Williams Love Lawyers Mark Love has a long-standing and diverse experience meeting corporate legal advisory needs,both in the private and public sector spheres, and traverses the full range of corporate governance issues faced in the stewardship of both private, government and not-for-profit corporations. Mark services a broad range of commercial needs of corporate clients and professional service providers and has established private sector entities ranging from political representative organisations, national sporting bodies and publicly and privately traded trusts. Mark is an experienced practitioner in the area of commercialising and protecting intellectual property rights, particularly in the areas of trade practices, copyright, trademark and know-how, and in development, publishing and implementation contracting. He also has extensive experience advising upon all aspects of corporate insolvency. Mark also deals with Commonwealth Authority and Company law issues in the public sector having had, on behalf of AFFA, merged the statutory authorities of the Horticulture Research and Development Commission and the Australian Horticulture Corporation and established Horticulture Australia Limited; and on behalf of ATSIC and in conjunction with Senatore Brennan Rashid, reviewed the Native Title Representative Body system, being ATSIC's body corporate based system for “native title claim administration”. Mark has been a facilitator for the Australian Institute of Company Directors for 10 years or more and is well qualified to discuss legal topics related to governance and legal issues of corporate stewardship.
Neil Primrose
Neil advises boards and senior executives on governance, business planning, leadership and team building. He works with clients across the private, government and not-for-profit sectors. He supports clients with mentoring and facilitation. His brings particular benefit to enterprises that are growing rapidly, including assistance with organisational structure and corporate culture.
Neil is a Fellow of both the Australian Institute of Company Directors and of the Australian Institute of Management. He has a Master of Arts in History and a Doctorate in International Relations. He has Certificates in Small Business Management, Assessment and Workplace Training, and in Theology.
He teaches governance and board effectiveness with the Australian Institute of Company Directors. He is on the Executive of the Canberra Business Council and leads the work of the Council and its kindred organisations to develop Canberra as a World City
He is a principal consultant with Yellow Edge Pty Ltd, especially in board performance evaluation.
As Chief Representative in the National Capital with NEC Business Solutions Ltd, Neil took the company’s relationships with the highest level of government and the private sector and lifted the profile of NEC in the national capital to accord with the company’s global stature and reach. In that time NEC Business Solutions Ltd grew its annual revenue in Canberra from $16 million to $25 million.
Neil had over twenty years experience in the Australian Public Service, including a dozen years at the Senior Executive level, working variously in the portfolios of Defence, Trade, Communications, and Transport. In each of these Neil took a leading role in policy development and micro-economic reform. He contributed to building corporate culture, to development of the intellectual under-pinning for reform and to effective management of change, both in domestically and with international organisations. He led Australian delegations at international meetings, presented papers to conferences and worked with the ministries of several countries to improve their management practices.
With his wife, Diana, he has three adult children. He has lived in Canberra for thirty seven years. He has taken a leading role in professional, church and sporting administration. In his sport of sailing, Neil is a University Blue, has won numerous championships and is a Gold Medallist from the Masters Games.
