Precis
Gavin Nicholson is an active director, governance researcher and board consultant. Over the past eight years he has provided advice on corporate governance and strategy to listed and large public companies, government-owned corporations, statutory authorities, not-for-profit organisations and local government.
With Professor Geoffrey Kiel he is author of the bestselling book Boards that Work: A New Guide for Directors, The ASX Corporate Governance Council's Principles: A Compliance Toolkit and Board, Director and CEO Evaluation. Gavin has also co-authored numerous international journal articles with his work appearing regularly in the leading academic governance journal Corporate Governance: an International Review.
Gavin is a senior lecturer at Queensland University of Technology, teaching into the MBA and Masters of Accounting programs. He tutors nationally and develops program materials in the areas of governance policy and practice; board, director and CEO evaluation; and the board and strategy. He is an active speaker on both practical and academic governance issues and has presented his work in Australasia, Africa, Europe and North America.
Gavin is a practicing director, serving on both not-for-profit and for-profit boards.
