This course is designed to suit those who wish to further their directorship skills and knowledge. Participants include executive and non-executive directors, CEOs and senior executives who report to boards. It is recommended that participants have completed the Foundations of Directorship program or have equivalent professional experience before enrolling.

What can you expect?

Over five days you will develop your director skills by exploring the director's role and responsibilities. You will embark on interactive working sessions through relevant case studies brought to life with video to apply and reinforce your knowledge. After completing the course, you should not only understand your roles and responsibilities, but also improve your contributions to board performance.


The Company Directors Course comprises 10 modules:

  7. Financial Literacy for Directors

  9. Achieving Board Effectiveness
  10. Learning into Practice

There is approximately 20-30 hours of pre-reading required before the course takes place.

The Company Directors Course is delivered in a variety of formats to suit your individual circumstances, including:

Assessment and Awards

You have the opportunity to achieve the Company Directors Course Award. To do so, you will need to successfully complete the optional assessment. Financial members are able to use the GAICD member post nominal on successful completion of the assessment. The assessment needs to be completed if you are planning to use the course to gain advanced standing in an MBA program.
