The Chairman
The Chairman course is designed to fine-tune leadership and governance skills of chairman while providing an in-depth analysis of the roles accountabilities and relationships with other board members and the CEO. Through the use of practical and relevant case studies, it also offers a rare opportunity to discuss specific and current issues with fellow chairmen, including board selection, boardroom processes and CEO succession planning.
Who should attend?
Chairmen, Deputy Chairmen, Committee Chairmen and those who are preparing themselves for this role. It is recommended that participants complete the Company Directors Course before undertaking this program, plus have extensive boardroom experience.
How will I benefit?
Upon completion of this course, you will be able to:
- Recognise your role as a leader inside and outside the organisation
- Define your role in board selection, boardroom dynamics and succession planning
- Identify your responsibilities in and between board meetings
- Outline the importance of developing a constructive working relationship with the CEO
- Effectively manage a crisis calmly, confidently and appropriately

The Chairman is presented by professional subject specialists and practising directors with experience working across a range of boards. On the day you will have opportunities to discuss specific issues with the facilitator and network with your peers.
