Launching our national NFP Thought Leadership Program

ImageThe Australian Institute of Company Directors remains committed to assisting the NFP sector in achieving its goals through good and appropriate governance.  As part of this commitment we are very excited to announce the launch of our national NFP Thought Leadership Program.

This program, utilising the insights of many leaders across the NFP sector, will provide a range of resources and content which can be accessed online or in person at our various events.

The program will commence with a broadened NFP governance study which is due for launch in October 2014.  This study, which is the largest and most comprehensive of its kind in Australia, will explore the link between governance and performance and will also examine the challenges and opportunities within the education and aged care sectors.

Some other key elements of the program include:

  • The enhancement of our online NFP Director Resource Centre to include a range of additional governance tools.
  • The Observership Program, which we have joined as a strategic partner, to assist in developing ‘directors of the future’ by having young people join NFP boards as observers for 12 months.
  • A new book, specifically for the NFP sector, which will explore a range of different facets of governance in the NFP world.

To support the national NFP Thought Leadership Program we are delighted to have a number of program partners including Commonwealth Bank, Moore Stephens and Perpetual who can help turn this program into a reality.

The national NFP Thought Leadership Program will evolve over time and we would welcome any comments or ideas to help us achieve our goals.  Our NFP team can be contacted at
