What is our response to the reform agenda?

We had an active role as a key contributor to the NFP reform agenda.

Our recent submission Submission on Consultation Paper "A Definition of Charity" outlined our broad backing of the initiatives being undertaken to support, grow and strengthen the NFP sector. However, we raised concerns regarding the "piecemeal" approach being taken to NFP reform, and feel that it would have been beneficial to undertake consultation with the sector holistically with reference to a guiding set of principles.

We will continue to work to ensure the collective voice of our members is heard and that the NFP reform meets its outcomes without burdening the sector with regulation and legislation that creates unintended consequences.

Our policy and advocacy work is part of an increased focus we are taking in the NFP sector to assist directors and boards. This is a key part of our role as Australia's pre-eminent organisation for directors dedicated to making a difference in the quality of governance and directorship.
