AAS 1015 ACCOUNTING FOR ACQUISITIONS OF ASSETS

I understand that the Australian Accounting Standards Board is reviewing the re-insertion of the reconstruction exemption.

This matter was discussed at the most recent meeting of the AICD's Accounting and Financial Advisory Committee meeting. The Committee asked me to write to you to convey its support for a review of the Standard as soon as possible. The Committee also agreed that its members would be happy to assist the Board with the review in whatever way they can.

I would be grateful if you would keep me informed as to the progress of the review.
