  • Date:03 Sep 2010
  • Type:Policy & Advocacy: Submission

On 3 September 2010 the Australian Institute of Company Directors wrote to the NSW Department of Health in response to its “Health Reform in NSW: A Discussion Paper on Implementing the Federal Government’s ‘A National Health and Hospitals Network for Australia’s Future’ in NSW”, released on 4 August 2010. The submission benefited greatly from the contribution of a single-issue Task Force of the Australian Institute of Company Directors Members with wide-ranging experience in the healthcare sector. As well as outlining some key principles which Company Directors believes should inform Government thinking when considering governance arrangements for large-scale, complex entities such as local hospital networks, the submission identifies a number of particular concerns with the NSW Government’s proposed governance arrangements. Company Directors has offered to assist the NSW Government in the development of its governance model.
