Program features
High quality, current materials
Comprehensive course materials are provided to all participants as pre-reading and are a useful reference for later use. Checklists and other useful tools are included in the materials. Curriculum and content is reviewed and updated annually by both practising directors and subject specialists.
International participants
Participants are drawn from countries around the world. For example, the October 2009 program attracted participants from Singapore, Hong Kong, China, Korea, PNG, UAE and Australia.
Our program in Singapore in 2008 included participants from China, Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Philippines, PNG, Netherlands and Australia.
International case studies
Case studies include high profile cases such as Olam International, China Aviation, Australian Wheat Board, Johnson Electric Holdings Ltd, HIH Insurance Group Ltd and other cases from Asia and Australia.
Moderate group sizes
Maximum group size for the International Company Directors Course is 25 participants.
Time commitment
The course is delivered over 5 consecutive days. Participants are provided with pre-reading and some time is set aside during the program for study. Total time commitment with pre-reading, course attendance and assessment is approximately 110 hours with 30 hours face to face sessions.
The course experience is enhanced by facilitated discussions, the questions participants ask, the conversations held during breaks and the offsite dinners, as well as the comprehensive course manuals that provide a great reference for later use.
Assessment
Not every participant chooses to be assessed. However, the International Company Directors Course Diploma and the ability to use the GAICD post-nominals (if you choose to become a member) are only available to those who successfully complete the exam and the assignment.
The exam element of the assessment may be taken at the end of the program.
