STUDY OPTIONS

There are four different ways to undertake  the CDC:

1. The residential program

  • Suits busy directors who need to schedule time-out to complete the program over 6 consecutive days (5 nights)
  • Enables you to complete the program in a short amount of time
  • Provides the experience of working closely with and getting to know your peers
  • Provides networking opportunities with international and national participants, facilitators and guest speakers
  • A financial tutorial has been introduced to assist participants with a non financial background by giving them more time to have their issues raised with an experienced facilitator

2. Intensive Non-residential program

  • Intensive Non-residential programs suit busy directors who prefer a Monday to Friday (business hours) format.
  • Enables you to complete the program in a short amount of time
  • Provides the experience of working closely with and getting to know your peers
  • Provide networking opportunities with locally based participants
  • Are held in capital cities and some regional areas
  • Accommodation is not included in the package

The residential program

The Intensive Non-residential program
  • Participants drawn from the region where course is held
  • Facilitators are professionals in their field and directors
  • Provides time for reflection
  • Opportunity to network

The tutorial program

The tutorial program suits participants who prefer to study part time and who are able to attend regular evening or weekend sessions. This tutorial program is run over a ten week period.

Participants are expected to complete pre-reading before attending each session. This ensures that sessions are interactive and that participants, experience and perspectives contribute to the learning.

Features of the tutorial program are:

  • Courses are available in every Australian capital city and territory and some country locations
  • Facilitators are professionals in their field and, wherever possible, are also directors 
  • Cost-effective method of study
  • Some flexibility in rescheduling missed sessions

The correspondence program

This program is suited to members who have difficulty in attending structured classes. Participants are provided with reading materials a study guide, and five hours support via e-mail.

Participants choosing this mode of study need to be self motivated and familiar with financial statements.

Our current terms and conditions require all candidates to complete the assessment tasks within the calendar year (12 months) of enrolment. This will mean that you may have less than the 6 month timeframe to complete your assessment tasks if you enrol into the CDC program in the later half of the calendar year. You should manage your time to accommodate for this deadline.
