COMMITTEES AT WORK

How to get the most out of board committees

Committees are critical for delivering the objectives of the board and achieving efficiencies. When should a committee be formed? What are the right terms of reference? What is your individual role and how can your committee be more effective?

Committees at Work is a three-hour program that focuses on the functioning and operation of committees. It is designed to ensure that your committees are set up to achieve the board’s objectives. You will also receive a bonus takeaway audio CD of insightful interviews with eight practising directors.

Whether you’re a chairman, director, executive director or committee member, you’ll gain practical skills and insights to enhance performance.

Gain in-depth knowledge and practical skills:

  • Know when, why and how to establish committees
  • Clarify committees’ reporting and communication requirements with the board
  • Understand your role, the roles of the committees and how they support the board by considering the life-cycle of a committee
  • Learn the essential building blocks for selecting and inducting new committee members
  • Take away sample charters, checklists and best practice recommendations
