This course looks at the main Australian and international authorities that regulate companies and their directors. It covers what these regulators do, how they can help companies and what they expect from them.

While all directors will be aware of these regulators, this course gathers together and concisely presents information about who they are and what they do. The result is a useful reference and summary of the current regulatory landscape.

Completion of this course will help you to answer the following questions:

  • Which regulators affect my company?
  • Which parts of my company are affected?
  • Do I know the broad outline of regulators’ requirements and where to get information about changes?
  • What arrangements does my company have in place to ensure compliance with regulators’ requirements?
  • Does my company have any significant dealings with a regulator?

You will look at

  • An overview of the role of regulators and the benefits of a regulated system
  • Scenarios illustrating the ways that various regulatory bodies may affect different companies
  • A Reference guide in three parts:
    • Major Australian regulators
    • Other Australian regulators
    • International regulators

How is this course assessed?
There is no formal assessment but you will be sent a certificate of completion.
