Two exclusive tours are available for conference guests and partners to attend. Both programs will run on Thursday 10 May 2012 and Friday 11 May 2012.

Partner Program 1 – Bombing of Darwin tour

Bombing of Darwin 

Partners have the unique opportunity to see, touch and imagine Darwin in 1942 which evokes suprise, generates interest and develops knowledge of the war on Australian soil.

The commentary includes vivid and explosive descriptions with first hand stories from soldiers who witnessed the extraordinary events.

The tour visits the remains of historical sites and physical relics that many partners would not otherwise get the opportunity to see. Among other locations the tour visits a local museum and an anti-aircraft gun site giving passengers greater understanding of the events of the bombing of Darwin.

  During the tour partners will stop for lunch at the well known restuarant Pee Wee's at the Point. Nestled amongst the tropical palms and natural environment of East Point Nature Reserve, Pee Wee's at the Point commands sweeping views across Fannie Bay to the skyline of Darwin. The multitude of wildlife that frequents the restaurant and quiet natural ambience of the surrounds, make Pee Wee’s an unforgettable Territory experience.

Partner Program 2 – Litchfield National Park

  Litchfield National Park is just an hour-and-a-half drive from Darwin and features a myriad of diverse environments including rugged sandstone escarpments, perennial spring-fed streams, monsoon rainforest, magnetic termite mounds, waterfalls and historic ruins.The crystal-clear swimming holes and pleasant bushwalking trails make this park a favourite among Darwin locals.
