Boards need a clear sense of why their companies have values, how they are being actioned in terms of public as well as shareholder interests and the role of the board in safeguarding these values. Ethical dilemmas and challenges are typically contextual and creep up on boards, executives and employees in incremental steps. The business context can so often place people in situations where they can find themselves doing the wrong things for what they think are the right reasons.
