AICD appoints Linda Nicholls as Victorian President

Former Chairman of Australia Post Linda Nicholls has been appointed State President of the Victorian Council of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD). 

Mrs Nicholls said, “AICD performs a vital function in educating, informing, and representing the views of directors from a broad variety of businesses and backgrounds.  I look forward to continuing to build AICD’s profile in Victoria and to ensuring that the needs of directors are heard and understood.”

Mrs Nicholls will also serve on AICD’s national board for the duration of her term, replacing retiring Victorian President, Mr Glenn Barnes.

Mrs Nicholls is a director with more than 30 years experience in insurance and funds management, private sector banking and government owned enterprises in Australia, New Zealand and the United States.  She is Deputy Chairman of Healthscope and a non-executive director of St George Bank, Sigma Pharmaceutical Group and Insurance Manufacturers Australia. 

Dr Vince FitzGerald, Chairman of The Allen Consulting Group, also joins as a Victorian State councillor.

Dr FitzGerald is a well known commentator on economic and public policy issues, having formerly held senior federal public service positions in the Departments of Treasury, Industries Assistance Commission, Prime Minister and Cabinet, Finance (Deputy Secretary), Trade (Secretary) and Employment, Education and Training (Secretary). 


He is a non-executive director of ETFS Commodity Securities Ltd, Gold Bullion Securities Ltd and Oil Securities Ltd as well as a member of the Advisory Board of MAB Corporation.
