Proposals outlined in the Streamlining Prudential Regulation: Response ‘Rethinking Regulation’ project are set to extend APRA’s powers and discretion and lack appropriate checks and balances to make the regulator accountable for its decisions and methods, the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD) said today.
