Delivering the Introductory Remarks at the Australian Institute of Company Directors’ Company Directors Conference 2008 on the Sunshine Coast today, AICD Chairman Mr John Story told directors that they needed to be mindful of the need to adopt evolutionary improvements in corporate governance.

“We need to be alert to new and better practices, and to adopt them wherever there are clear benefits.”

He said AICD welcomed recent comments from the Federal Minister for Superannuation and Corporate Law, the Hon. Nick Sherry that he will examine the increased level of personal liability for directors.
