Reach out to 9,000 members on LinkedIn

More than 7,000 individuals have joined the Australian Institute of Company Directors’ member-only group on LinkedIn, up from 1,582 members since its launch as our official group in July 2011.
While it is unlikely that online forums will ever replace face to face director networking, LinkedIn is growing in acceptance as a valuable tool for accessing relevant information when you need it.
Active discussions within the LinkedIn Group this month (March 2012) have included the use of iPads in the Boardroom, blocking access to Facebook and IT Governance. Many members are also highlighting governance news and discussing articles of interest.
Following the launch of an SME sub-group in August 2011, an IT Governance community was created in response to member feedback late on 6 March 2012. Within less than 24 hours of announcing the group’s creation, more than 200 people had joined and started discussions on issues including cloud computing and the link between IT project failure and poor governance.
We would like to thank Steve Trone MAICD, for establishing the Company Directors’ Member Group in 2008 and for his stewardship prior to transitioning ownership and management to our team members last year.
