The Policy and Advocacy Department is the vehicle for developing and advocating policy on specific director and board related issues for AICD members.

Our objective is to ensure that governments develop an economic and regulatory environment in which business can flourish and compete internationally.

Good practice in directorship, both nationally and internationally, is continually being researched and advocated. Trends are monitored and relevant education and information is provided to assist directors and senior managers in making boards more effective.

We also liaise with legislators, regulators and all stakeholder groups including by way of hosting the Industry Liaison Committee regarding issues effecting directors and boards.

Also see Useful Links and AICD Committees.

AICD's national Corporate Governance committee, Law Committee and Reporting Committee together with various working groups and taskforces help to develop AICD policy relating to director and board related issues with input from the AICD board, division councils and the wider membership.
