  • Date:04 Jun 2010
  • Type:Policy & Advocacy: Paper

The Australian Institute of Company Directors believes remuneration reports and the requirements governing them in Australia have become unduly complex, place a significant burden on companies and are of limited use to shareholders and other readers. A position paper has been prepared to assist stakeholders to understand the Australian Institute of Company Directors’ policy stance in relation to remuneration reports prepared by disclosing entities that are companies. The paper draws together comments previously made by the Australian Institute of Company Directors on the subject, and where relevant refers to recent developments. It also makes a number of recommendations for change which will make remuneration reports easier to prepare and more useful for readers.
