Not only has membership reached a record high of 16,000, the other big news is that the AICD is moving up in the world to new offices on level 25 of Australia Square in George Street, Sydney towards the end of December.

The AICD National Office and NSW Division Office has signed the lease of the 1032 square metres of level 25, 150 square metres of which will be sublet. Chief executive officer John Hall sees the change of location as a strategic move forward for Australia's pre-eminent organisation for company directors. "Our national membership has doubled in size during our 10 years at Company Director House in York Street and the time has come for more floor space and improved amenities to provide for our growing membership," he said. "Australia Square is a prestigious address. Our committee members, education consultants, overseas visitors and others who regularly meet with the AICD will have three meeting rooms and a new boardroom at their disposal. "And our staff can look forward to the modern open office plan of this circular building which provides streaming natural light and full city views."

For the first three months, telephone callers to the York Street address will be advised of the new number via a message bank service. Faxes to the York Street address will not be received. All mail to the York Street address will be forwarded. As of the beginning of January, contact details for the National Office and the NSW Division will be: Australian Institute of Company Directors, Level 25, Australia Square 264-278 George Street Sydney NSW 2000 National Office telephone: 02 8248 6600; Fax: 02 8248 6633 NSW Division telephone: 02 8248 6666; Fax: 02 8248 6677 All e-mail addresses are the same.
