The Company Directors Conference 2004 titled Alternatives, explores alternative ways of approaching challenges, both now and in the future and will provide insights into those factors shaping the business world today.

Opening speaker Ray Kurzweil, inventor, entrepreneur, author and futurist, is the principal developer of many inventions in use today. He has successfully founded and developed nine businesses in areas such as music synthesis, reading technology, financial investment and medical simulation. All of these technologies continue today as market leaders.

New to the 2004 conference are two experiential learning forums. Forum G will take delegates by boat to a marine research in the Low Isles to explore Sustainability with John "Caveman" Gray. The founder and managing director of John Gray's SeaCanoe is a lifelong waterman and environmentalist and will share his views on environmental performance and whether it comes at a price in terms of economic success. An Australian director will provide a corporate viewpoint.

For the more adventurous Forum F will deliver learning with a difference. Two unique business case studies will be facilitated by television commentator John Hanrahan at a barramundi farm and working cattle station.

The on-line networking facility, Business Connections can help you make contact with delegates before and during the conference. Once registered for the conference, you can register for Business Connections on the website. A password will enable you to input your interests and reach like-minded people.

Early bird registrations close on 19 March – if places haven't sold out before then. Register by 19 March to be in the draw to win two bottles of Penfolds BIN 707, thanks to Heritage Fine Wines.

Qantas has again been appointed official airline for the Company Directors Conference 2004 and a special conference airfare has been negotiated for a discount up to 40% off the full economy airfare (excluding taxes).
