Our objective in producing this Annual Review is to provide members with an overview of our performance against our stated goals for the 2010/11 financial year and to provide an update on our activities.

This review is designed to be read in conjunction with our Financial Report for the year ended 30 June 2011. Our corporate governance statement, as well as a listing of our Division Councillors and Policy Committee members, is contained in our Financial Report.

2010/11 Highlights

  • We celebrated our 21st anniversary of the amalgamation of the Institute of Directors in Australia and the Company Directors Association of Australia amalgamated to form the Australian Institute of Company Directors in 1990
  • Our membership grew 10.9 per cent to 29,579, the highest year-on-year growth in our history
  • More than 3,100 people participated in the Company Directors Course, the highest number ever
  • We conducted 916 events and courses, which were attended by 45,882 members and non-members, an increase of 13.2 per cent from last year
  • Our 14th National Company Directors Conference was held in Beijing in the People’s Republic of China
  • We launched our new and improved website
  • We released our inaugural Director Sentiment Index
  • There was a 38 per cent increase in media mentions compared to the previous year
  • We expanded our Chairmen’s Mentoring Program for the second year and continued to make a difference to gender diversity on boards through a range of initiatives.
