Fowler to lead NCVER

The National Centre for Vocational Education Research (NCVER) has appointed Dr Craig Fowler as its new managing director from late October.

Fowler has worked in both the private and public sectors, including at very senior levels of the South Australian public service for the last 11 years.

Fowler has also been a principal in tax with Ernst and Young, working in areas of innovation and research and development incentives. He was also a coordinator of Ernst & Young’s life science practice in Asia Pacific.

Yvonne Butler MAICD had been appointed CEO of the Australian Institute of Project Management (AIPM).

Butler comes to the CEO role having held senior positions in Allens, Mallesons Stephen Jaques, Ernst & Young, the Palladium Group, APP Corporation and Transfield Services.

She is a fellow of the AIPM and has knowledge in project management, including extensive experience as a past member of a number of institute committees and project groups.

Online accounting software company Xero has appointed Andy Lark MAICD as chief marketing officer (CMO).

Lark was previously CMO at Commonwealth Bank, prior to which he spent the majority of his career in the US and Europe.

Lark starts his new role at Xero in November and will lead Xero’s global marketing strategy.
