Keep an eye on your in-tray, because the Company Directors Conference 2002 brochure will be hitting your desk very soon. In the brochure, you will find complete details of the topics, speakers and social events lined up for the 2002 conference. The theme this year is particularly apt. In times of significant and rapid change, there's a lot that directors have to keep up-to-date with. Catch the Future will explore what these changes are, how they will impact on your business and how they affect your role as a director. Are boards suffering from corporate governance fatigue? Subject to final confirmation, Geoffrey Robertson QC will moderate a hypothetical session exploring the role of Australian boards. Putting the spotlight onto some of our most prominent directors and commentators, Dr Robertson will be joined by panelists Nick Greiner, professional director; John C. Viney, chairman Europe, Heidrick & Struggles; Jonar C. Nader, digital-age philosopher and author; Linda Graham-McCann, director, Bell Shakespeare Company; Jonathan West, associate professor, Harvard University and Graham Bradley, managing director and CEO, Perpetual Trustees.

Delegates can choose from seven corporate case studies/roundtables. Run by leading Australian business schools, the case studies include an examination of Australia Post's move forward to e-business; an Australian biotech success story; how to get the best from your senior team; and how Herron Pharmaceuticals handled a product extortion attempt. Providing a more practical approach, the roundtables include an examination of the challenges of not-for-profit boards, a discussion on how to maintain the only endurable source of competitive advantage - people, and a high-tech game helping you to identify and apply strategy.

Catch the Future will be held at the Sheraton Mirage Gold Coast and Palazzo Versace from May 15 to 17. For more information and online registrations visit www.companydirectors.com.au /conference or contact Anita Sawa on 02 8248 6671, e-mail asawa@companydirectors.com.au
