The tragic event that claimed the lives of the Sundance Resources Limited board of directors is a shock to the Australian business and the resources industry.
The Australian Institute of Company Directors extends its heartfelt condolences and thoughts to the families, friends and loved ones of those who died in the course of their governance duties to Sundance Resources, and its shareholders and broader stakeholders.
Regrettably, it is an event such as this that reminds us of the risks that are assumed by those charged with the management of our corporations, especially those pursuing opportunities, on behalf of shareholders, in foreign countries where infrastructure, services and standards may not be as advanced as those we are accustomed to in Australia.
The whole director community mourns the loss of those who died in the course of their corporate duty, who included valued members and friends of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
